Tom Henderson, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Thomas Henderson was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 12, 1947.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from
Louisiana State University in 1969. In 1973 he earned his medical
doctorate from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and went on
to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1979.
Dr. Henderson has practiced ophthalmology in Texas for twenty five
years. He founded the Eye Clinic of Austin in 1982 and is currently
its President and Chief Executive Officer. From 1995 until 2003,
he served as Chief of Staff for HealthSouth Surgical Hospital. Dr.
Henderson was Chief of Ophthalmology from 1988 to 1990 and then
from 1997 to 1999 at St David’s Medical Center. Dr. Henderson’s
professional experience includes expertise in cataract, refractive
and corneal transplant surgery. His thoroughness and clinical excellence
has earned him the respect and trust of patients and peers. Since
1997, he has been honored by being named one of the Best Doctors
in America and a Texas Super Doctor in 2004. Dr. Henderson holds
memberships in professional organizations including the American
College of Eye Surgery, American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American
College of Surgeons.
Since 1982 Dr. Henderson’s Ophthalmology practice, Eye Clinic
of Austin, has provided its’ community with outstanding patient
care and quality personal attention. His team of professionals offers
a full range of eye care services, from primary eye health exams
to cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Henderson emphasizes a team-oriented
approach to eye care and his vision is to be the preferred eye care
provider, focused on improving quality of life for his patients
and offering a positive environment in providing quality optical,
medical and surgical eye care to patients in the Austin –
Central Texas area.
